On November 4, 2021, MES ENERGY S.A. received permits for 8 energy storage projects using accumulators, with a total power of 338 MW. The first permit concerns the installation of batteries of 150 MW total power, divided into 3 projects of 50 MW each. The 3 projects will be constructed in the region of Achaea, in the region of Kozani and in the region of Phocis respectively. The second permit obtained by the company is related to the production of energy storage stations of 18 MW total power, divided into 3 projects of 6 MW each. The referred projects will be developed in the region of Pyrgos, in the region of Evia and in the region of Achaea. On the same day, the company received permits for 2 additional energy storage projects, which will be installed in the Regional Unit of Kozani. The first project will have a power of 20 MW, while the second will have a power of 150 MW. Finally, on November 25 2021, the company received a production permit for an additional project, which will be constructed in the region of Phokis, with a power of 6 MW. The relevant applications for the licensing of the projects were submitted to RAE in June, 2021.
