MES ENERGY S.A. has successfully and on schedule completed all individual tasks associated with upgrading the street lighting on key road axes in the Municipality of Ios. The project has now entered the phase of guaranteed operation. Throughout this period, the company will ensure uninterrupted operation by conducting planned maintenance tasks and addressing any potential damages that may occur.

The 114 autonomous LED luminaires, powered by batteries charged using a PV panel placed on their pole, have been primarily installed at key intersections of the national road network. They are strategically positioned in areas with poor visibility and challenging driving conditions, as well as on narrow roads, particularly in the harbor area where pedestrian and vehicle traffic is high.

With this initiative, the municipality of Ios actively contributes to environmental protection and promotes sustainable development. LED lighting not only enhances visibility and safety on the roads but also makes a significant contribution to reducing energy consumption and overall public expenditure savings.
