MES ENERGY S.A. undertook the supply of two “urban type” electric buses and one electric vehicle charging station to meet the transportation needs of the Municipality of Agioi Anargyroi- Kamatero. The contract, worth 1,361,500 euros, was signed on Tuesday, May 23, 2023, and is expected to be completed over the next twelve months.
The project is funded by the Development and Solidarity Program for Local Government “Antonis Tritsis” under the priority axis “Environment” titled: “Electromobility Actions in Municipalities.”
Electric buses have significant advantages compared to conventional ones with internal combustion engines, as they produce zero CO2 emissions and other harmful gases that negatively affect human health and the environment. They also require minimal maintenance and show a significant reduction in noise emissions.
The Municipality of Agioi Anargyroi – Kamatero is a pioneer in the field of sustainable mobility and environmental protection with its decision to choose electric buses for public transportation, while setting a good example to other local authorities and encouraging the wider adoption of green transportation.
