MES ENERGY S.A. has undertaken and completed another innovative energy upgrade project on behalf of the Municipality of Skyros.
More specifically, MES ENERGY S.A. has undertaken and completed the creation of a micro-network with renewable energy and alternative technologies in the facilities of BIOKA (Biological Treatment Plant) Skyros, the supply and installation of an integrated hydrogen back-up system unit (fuel cells and storage tanks) for the continuous production of electricity, as well as all the necessary additional auxiliary subsystems in the offices of BIOKA, the replacement of 245 interconnected luminaires of conventional technology with LEDs and the installation of 20 automatic luminaires on the main road of Port-Hora, the supply and installation of a photovoltaic system at the power of 60 kW with an electricity installed out of the city’s net. In addition, it undertook and completed the energy upgrade of Skyros Primary School and more specifically, the installation of a heat pump for heating the school and the replacement of lamps and lamps with new LED lamps. Finally, it delivered two electric vehicles and a two-wheel with accompanying charging stations.
The project “Smart Application of Innovative Renewable Energy Interventions and Energy Efficiency Improvement in Buildings & Facilities of the Municipality of Skyros” is implemented within the framework of the EEA Renewable Energy Sources, Energy Efficiency and Energy Security Programme 2014-2021/GR-Energy with co-financing from the EEA and Norway Grants (Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway) (75%) and the Greek Republic’s Public Investment Programme (25%).
Another project that will improve the quality of life of Skyros residents and visitors, while at the same time contributing to energy saving and reducing CO2 emissions.
